3.2 — Installations

April 11, 2026

What's New
  • Installations: Track one-time records of things installed or replaced in your home — like a new roof, water heater, or appliance. Add an installation inside any category by clicking 'Add item' and selecting Installation. Each installation shows the date it was done.
  • Task or installation toggle: When editing an item, switch it between a maintenance task and an installation using the Task / Installation toggle. Dates migrate automatically — a task's last completed date becomes the installation date, and vice versa.
Bug Fixes
  • Last completed in edit mode: When editing a maintenance task, you can now update the last completed date directly in the edit view without going through the 'Mark done' flow.

What's New
  • Home button: A Home link now appears at the top of the sidebar menu on every page, taking you straight to your dashboard when signed in.
  • AI usage limits: The AI summary is now limited to 3 refreshes per day and the AI chat to 5 conversations per day — your latest summary is always saved and shown even when the limit is reached.
Bug Fixes
  • Onboarding date picker: The date picker in the setup flow no longer auto-selects today's date before you choose one, no longer closes unexpectedly when using arrow keys, and correctly shows the date you selected.
  • Onboarding hint: A 'Click date to edit' hint now appears beneath any date already set on the onboarding screen, making it clear the date is editable.
  • Household invite validation: Sending a household invite now checks that the email address is correctly formatted and shows an inline error if not.
  • Household invite on Enter: Pressing Enter in the household invite field now sends the invite.

What's New
  • Households: Invite a partner or housemate to share your Nestkeeper dashboard. Both members can view, add, edit, and complete tasks and memberships together. Each item shows who last updated it so you always know who did what.
Bug Fixes
  • AI formatting: The AI summary and chat no longer produce bold text or other markdown formatting that appeared as raw asterisks in the app.
  • Input field text color: Text typed into any input field across the app now appears in the correct color instead of being too light to read comfortably.
  • Task date picker: The date picker for marking a task as done no longer closes and saves when navigating to a previous month using the arrow keys.
2.2 — Email Notifications

What's New
  • Email notifications: Get a weekly or monthly email summary of your upcoming and overdue maintenance tasks and service memberships — written by AI to keep things friendly and useful. Configure your schedule from your profile page.
  • FAQs: A new FAQs page is available from the menu, covering everything from getting started to account management. No login required.
  • Delete account: You can now permanently delete your Nestkeeper account from your profile page. All your data is removed immediately and a confirmation email is sent.
Bug Fixes
  • Calendar consistency: The date picker for marking tasks as done and during onboarding now matches the date picker used for service memberships.
  • AI chat greeting: The chat window now opens with a greeting from Nestkeeper rather than waiting for you to type first.
2.1 — Branded Emails, About Page & Feedback

What's New
  • Branded emails: Nestkeeper now sends beautifully designed emails for account confirmation, password reset, and email address changes — all from hello@mynestkeeper.com.
  • About The Developer: A new page in the side menu introduces the person behind Nestkeeper.
  • Feedback form: Share your thoughts directly from the app. Rate your experience, tell us why, and optionally leave your name and email — accessible from the sidebar menu whether you're logged in or not.
Bug Fixes
  • Signup password confirmation: Creating an account now requires you to confirm your password, with a show/hide toggle on both fields.
  • Email change verification: Changing your email address on the profile page now requires your current password before the change is submitted.
  • Confirmation redirects: Clicking the confirmation link in your account confirmation or email change email now takes you to the sign-in page.
2.0 — AI Summary & Chat

What's New
  • AI Summary: An AI-generated summary appears at the top of your dashboard each time you sign in, giving you a warm, conversational overview of what's in good shape, what's coming up, and what's overdue.
  • AI Chat: A floating chat button in the bottom-right corner of the dashboard opens a chat window where you can ask Nestkeeper anything about your home maintenance. Your conversation is remembered for the duration of your session.
Bug Fixes
  • Sticky header: The navigation header now stays fixed at the top of the screen as you scroll down the dashboard.
  • Forgot password: A "Forgot password?" link on the login page lets you reset your password by email.
  • Sign out: A sign out option is now available at the bottom of the side menu.
  • Reorder categories: The "Reorder categories" button under Maintenance Tasks now only appears when you have two or more categories.
  • Reorder memberships: Memberships now support drag-to-reorder — the "Reorder memberships" button appears when you have two or more active memberships.
  • Next due date: The "Next due" date on tasks now shows the full date (e.g. Feb 22, 2026) instead of just the month and year.

What's New
  • Profile page: Update your name, email address, or password at any time from the account menu. Password changes require your current password for verification.
  • Memberships section: Track your home service memberships — add the company, scope of service, membership length, price, and whether it renews automatically. Active, expired, and cancelled memberships are all tracked.
Bug Fixes
  • Dashboard greeting: The welcome message now correctly says "Good morning," "Good afternoon," or "Good evening" based on the time of day.

What's New
  • Onboarding flow: New users are now greeted with a setup experience on first sign-in. Choose which categories and tasks to start with, and optionally log when you last completed them.
  • New favicon: The browser tab now shows a custom Nestkeeper icon — a capital N inside a house outline.
Bug Fixes
  • Last completed date: Future dates are no longer selectable — only today or earlier can be chosen.

  • Home maintenance dashboard: A clean, organised view of all your home maintenance tasks grouped by category.
  • Categories: Group tasks by area of your home (e.g. Kitchen, Garden, HVAC).
  • Tasks: Add tasks with a name, how often they need doing, and when you last completed them.
  • Task status: Tasks are automatically marked as Good, Due Soon, or Overdue based on their schedule.
  • Drag to reorder: Reorder categories and tasks by dragging them into the order you want.
  • Accounts: Secure sign-up and login with email and password.
